A Big Bucket List Check
What? Another one? Today is two-fer-Friday! A weekend double, just for you. In a follow-up to today’s post about my misplaced and yet unpublished handmade sketchbook, I offer this postscript. How about some GREAT news?
A few days ago, I applied for my EIN, or Federal Tax Identification Number, for the purpose of operating a business in the United States. Since I started this newsletter a couple of months ago, I have added 33 subscribers, mostly gathered through word of mouth or social media.
My newsletter is offered free of charge, because I don’t want to exclude anyone from having the chance to read it because they can’t pay to do so. That’s important to me.
With that being said, I have recently added buttons that would allow my readers to subscribe to my newsletter via an $8 monthly payment, or $88 yearly payment, to support my work as a fledgling writer, soon to be author. An option of contributing $111 (or an amount of your choosing) to become a “The Desert Rose” Founding Supporter was also set into motion.
I was thrilled that few free subscribers chose to become paid subscribers right away! With those first few payments, I became a PAID WRITER (my lifelong dream) for the very first time. YIPPPPPEEEEE!!! Gracias from the bottom of my corazón, amigos.
I am enjoying the banter and compliments (who wouldn’t?) from those who are reading my newsletter and commenting on its content. I appreciate each of you, my loyal subscribers, plus my silent readers, and those who have commented on and shared my posts via social media.
Running over here to read my words, or sharing your favorite post is just as valuable to me as any monies I might gain from this endeavor. As always, I aspire to inspire, first and foremost. Checking off my bucket list item-becoming paid for my writing-is a quite a new and pleasurable feeling. WOOOOOO HOOOOOO!! Thanks again for all of your support!
